Fashion?

To be honest, I really hate "high fashion." Almost nothing I see resonates with me at all, not even from a level of would I wear this ever, but even from a level of, is this aesthetically pleasing? Isn't that what fashion is meant to do? Beautify our lives through what we wear? Express some of our identity that isn't immediately visible in our biological being through the necessary covering of our sacred parts? Everything I see feels like either another churn out of everything that has been worn forever (which is fine, but not then justifiably "high fashion" to me), or be so absurd or ugly or surreal that it no longer seems like it belongs in reality. So is high fashion completely irrelevant? I know that part of the problem, and part of why I feel so angry, is that I am ignorant when it comes to fashion. I am almost entirely uneducated in the history and influence that has led up to each designer and each piece. But I still think that it is failing in its mission if it misses me this entirely.
